TMP VACU-JET Injection Molding Press For Rubber and Silicone

TMP has incorporated our newest technological advancements into the Vacu-Jet Injection Molding Press for rubber parts manufacture. This is one of the most advanced injection molding presses introduced to the rubber industry in decades.

The Advantage of a Vacuum Injection Molding Press:

Vacuum injection molding minimizes the inclusion of trapped air or gases that cause defective parts. Many product manufacturers use mold designs with vacuum seals and vacuum channels to remove the gases. TMP has developed a better, more efficient method, for removing these gasses. The TMP patented technique creates a vacuum chamber around the entire mold. Any existing tooling can thus be used in this press while the extra costs for vacuum molds are eliminated. TMP was the first to introduce this to the industry and has seen customer after customer make this one-time nominal investment. The results are higher operating efficiencies, higher productivity, and better product quality

The TMP press Hydraulic System is a proven for its efficiency and long-term reliability. These hydraulics combined with TMP's IPS Control system provide press control, accuracy and flexibility unmatched in the industry.

Vacu-Jet Injection Molding Press

Components of this assembly include:

  • Two hydraulic injection cylinders
  • Barrel/Screw assembly, directly coupled to the hydraulic motor. Temperature controlled.
  • Reservoir Assembly precision and temperature controlled. Retractable for cleaning.
  • Retraction Cylinders, to pull nozzle off mold interface, if desired. (Models VJ2000 and higher)
  • Intake block machined and mounted in precise alignment.
  • Self-contained, oil-circulating water cooling unit controlled through the IPS Controls

This is a First-In-First Out (FIFO) system. The first material plasticized is the first material to be injected. The FIFO system maintains proper material residence time and assures that the thermal status of the entire shot is consistent at the time of injection.

The rugged injection unit is designed to process even the most difficult rubber compounds with speed and accuracy

Leading Edge "IPS Controls"

The TMP IPS Vacuum Injection Control System is a PLC-based system designed to improve product quality through better pressing accuracy, repeatability, versatile process control programming and monitoring of data for analysis. The system is designed and supported by TMP.

Injection profiling uses a separate hydraulic digital proportional servo control valve with its own processor. This combined with a linear displacements transducer and data access module provide highly responsive, repeatable, and accurate outputs compared to set-points (inputs).

IPS Injection Profiling

Within the recipe scheme, using the Operator Interface, the following parameters may be set for the sequential steps as shown: Shot size value. Value can also set for back pressure during reservoir fill.

  • Injection cylinder velocity and position set points during mold cavity filling.
  • Transition set point for either pressure or position. This determines the point of transition from velocity/position profiles to pressure/time profiles.
  • Pressure and time set points to complete the compression phase of the profile.
